National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) - This web site is designed to help Social Studies educators at all grade levels find the information and resources they need. Here you will find everything from professional development information, to teacher resources, to Internet links.

Alberta Social Studies Council (SSC)- The SSC seeks to promote the study of social studies in Alberta and constantly improve the teaching of social studies. Their Web site contains links to resources, lesson plans and other information about teaching social studies.

Canadian Social Studies Website- A site dedicated to Canadian Social Studies Education and provides teachers with over 100 lesson plans and teaching ideas. Also contains links to daily news, weather, social issues, Canadian web sites, aboriginal peoples, and more.

The National Atlas of Canada- Very descriptive online atlas of Canada, also contains excellent teacher resources in the areas of Canadian geography, topography, statistics and other government sites.

Canada's Digital Collection- The content of digitized material spans over several subject areas.

Canadian Geographic Online- Like the magazine, the Web site offers readers with information about Canada's land and people and about issues that affect Canadians.

National Geographic MapMachine- Excellent site for viewing different maps from around the world. Information about the area being viewed can also be obtained.
