The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)- The NCTE is dedicated to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. Here you will find everything from professional development information, to teacher resources, to Internet links.

The English Language Arts Council (ELAC)- The ELAC seeks to promote the study and teaching of English Language Arts in Alberta. Their Web site contains links to resources, lesson plans and other information about teaching English and language arts.

Mr. William Shakespeare and the Internet- This site is a complete annotated guide to the scholarly Shakespeare resources available on the Internet and it also presents Shakespeare material unavailable anywhere else on the Internet.

Writers in Electronic Residence (WEIR)- WEIR connects students across Canada with writers, teachers and one another in an animated exchange of original writing and commentary. Well-known Canadian authors join classrooms electronically to read and consider the students' work, offer reactions and ideas, and guide discussions between the students.

Canada's Digital Collection- This Industry Canada program awards contracts to enable firms, organizations and individuals to employ teams of young people to undertake digitization work and produce Web sites to display the material they have digitized on the World Wide Web. The content of digitized material spans over several subject areas.
