October 2 , 2004 Good news everyone! Yesterday our conference appeared so we can now begin conferencing. The conferences are within WebCT while the rest of the course materials are not. When you click on the 'conferences' button within the EDIT 573 course site you will be taken to a WebCT login page. Use your U of A CNSID name and password to login. That should take you to a 'My WebCT' page where you will find EDIT 573 listed. Enter that location and find your way to the 'Discussion' board. If you have any trouble, please contact me. I have adjusted the schedule board somewhat, particularly with regard to the completion of the Rocket Boy assignment. For the modules we have missed I have posted the questions I would like you to respond to in each of them. I realize this leaves you with some catch up work to do, but I am inclined to see if we can gradually catch up over the next couple of weeks rather than not have you think about the questions for those modules. If you have concerns about this please post a message for discussion in the 'problems' category of the new discussion.
September 8, 2004 Welcome to the fall 2004 offering of EDIT 573. I hope you are able to find all you need to get started without difficulty. Please check the schedule and note that unlike some online courses, this one features a good deal of discussion and group work. This requires everyone to work on the same modules during the same week although it does allow for choice as to when in the day and week you do you do your online course work. The conference utility will not be operating for the first few days of the course. Watch the latest news area for an announcement of when the conference will be available. Beginning with Module 2 you will need a user name and password in order to reach the module readings that are online. Please contact David Mappin, as requested in Module 1, and you will obtain the ID and Password. In your email note please include your Name and ID Number.
